An Underworld Escape is Forthcoming

While our vice-ridden reality runs amok amid presidential rape culture, idiots with guns, and megaphone megalomaniacs who give the mentally ill a bad rep, yours truly has been writing, parenting, and trying to stay healthy, if not wise or rich.

If nothing else, I'd like to tell you a story about erstwhile corruption comfortably delivered with a shot of bootleg, the shimmy of flappers, and the harmony of jazz. My upcoming historical fiction novel, North Side Hellion, is set to publish in late October or early November 2016. Below is a potential blurb for the cover whilst I finish edits and design.

Aiden McCarthy enjoys thieving and scheming much more than abiding by the morals of his Irish-American, working-class family. He has always been a pisser, but working for Dean O'Banion's North Side Gang feeds his teenage desire for action, rebellion, and romance.

When his father is injured in crossfire between Italian gangsters, he finds he must balance adventure with responsibility to family. Aiden's interest in the daughter of one of the, now dead, Italians and his sense of justice in the midst of gangland competition tug at his conscience. He searches to reconcile his place as influences of lust, social upheaval, and rebellion against Prohibition weave together in a Jazz Age tapestry.

North Side Hellion is a yarn where decadence, duty, and delight intertwine for adventure and history-lovers alike.
